Warmest Prez Greetings!

Vintage Sterling Silver &and Amethyst Pendent /Necklace & Earrings Set Raffle Tickets for the "continuing-raffle” will be available at the May meeting. All proceeds will be used to help fund our Newcomers’ social evening gathering in June. Again! special thanks to Renee Weiss, "Chez- Renee's Collectibles”, for generously donating this exquisite ‘prize’.

NEW MEMBER: Warmest greetings with promises of fun and friendship to our newest member - Carol Richards.

MAY MEETING

ARABIC FOOD and ARAB HOSPITALITY: Wilma Lopresti and Mervet Yassin will supply the feasting treats for the meeting - an epicurean’s delight - Arabic cuisine. They only asked that you bring a hearty appetite.

Beginning at 10:30 a.m – Renee Allessio will give an informative and interesting talk on the “Right to Know about hazardous substances, in the workplace, community, and in the home”; a subject that Newcomers, who consider themselves environmentally conscious and who desire a “clean, safe home and planet”, will enjoy.

Our “Welcoming Chairwoman”, Rosemary Martin, will greet and distribute name-tags to members and guests. Babysitting is provided on the premises for $5 per family. Please pack snacks and drinks for your children.

We look forward to seeing you at this ‘All things seem possible in May’ gathering. Join the fun – the more the merrier!

CLUB ITEMS of INTEREST

End-of the Year Dinner: Before we break for the summer, join us for an end-of-the year dinner. It’s the perfect opportunity for all members to meet, whether you usually attend just the day events or just the evening ones. Join us for a five-course meal at one of West Milford’s finest restaurants. Enjoy everything from appetizers to coffee and cake, even a glass or two of wine, beer or soda. With Newcomers subsidizing the dinner, it’s only $37 per person, including tax and tip. Wednesday, June 3, 2009 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.

Yard Sale:Newcomers is going to help you find a good home for your accumulated but no longer needed treasures. Also earn some money for the clearing your house of clutter! We are providing a place for you to sell your own item yourself. We are not asking for donations. Please join us on Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13, either for one day or two. Newcomers will get the permit, put up the signs and advertise. A donation to the club of 10% of your sales is suggested. Blanche DeSimone will provide her yard at 24 East Park Drive, West Milford. If you would like to participate, please contact, Maria-Elena Grant by June 5.

JUNE MEETING: For the June 9th meeting Master Gardeners, Deb Manfredonio and Lyne Ciccarelli, will give an interesting and entertaining hands-on presentation,“Spring Planting: Herb Gardens”. Copies of “ Natural Insect Repellents - How to Use Herbs to Keep Bugs Away” and other related material will available.

DIRECTORY AND E-MAILS: To help maintain our e-mail lists and directory, please notify our new webmaster, Blanche DeSimone any time during the year when there are changes to your membership information, i.e. e-mail address, telephone number, etc.

RAFFLE: Members are encouraged to bring items to be raffled off each month. You can clear out the clutter from your house and help the Club at the same time. The money earned from these raffles goes into our Club treasury to help defray monthly meeting expenses.

SUNSHINE SQUAD: Having friends help you out during a bad time can mean a lot. Helen Rezzonico is once again chairing this wonderful service the club provides for its members. The Sunshine Squad helps out members during difficult times by delivering dinners to them after surgery, giving birth or a serious illness. If you willing to be called on to be of service to your fellow members at such times, please let Helen know.

New ideas are ALWAYS welcome! If there is another group activity you would like to see implemented, or if you have a special interest or talent that you would like to share with others, then ‘Please’ let us know either through the newsletter or email or at the monthly meeting.
