PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE: It’s hard to believe but this Club year is winding down with only 3 more meetings to go. New officers will be needed for the coming year with the transition taking place at the June meeting. If you are interested in being more involved in the running of the Club, please let me know. It does not take a great deal of time and the rewards of keeping the Club doing what it does best – providing a way to meet new people and join in on fun activities – are priceless.

APRIL MEETING: Due to the school holiday week, please note that our April meeting will be held on THE THIRD TUESDAY OF THE MONTH, APRIL 17th, at the West Milford Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall with social time starting at 9:30 a.m. and the meeting beginning at 10 a.m. Babysitting is provided on the premises for $5 per family. Please pack snacks and drinks for your own children.

Our speaker will be Janet Nordblom from Change of Space, whose topic will be Decorating on a Budget. Learn decorating tips regarding furniture, fabrics, paints, accessories and more! You will learn simple techniques for finding and developing your own personal decorating style without breaking the bank. Think Rearrange, Rethink and Redecorate. Is it time to change your space?

Refreshments will be provided by Maria-Elena Grant and Renee Weiss.

ACTIVITIES UPDATE:

  • SOCIAL NIGHT OWLS: Sophie Adams This group will be meeting the evening of Thursday, April 26th. Sophie will be in touch with you by e-mail regarding the plans for this group for the month of April.

  • WALKING IN WAYWAYANDA: Mary Loudin. This group meets every Monday in Waywayanda State Park, meeting at the parking lot down by the lake at 1 p.m., unless there is inclement weather. Children and dogs are welcome. Park regulations require that dogs be on leashes. You do not have to call Mary if you are walking, just show up by the scheduled time.

  • LET’S DO LUNCH: Merrilee McKittrick. This group will be going to Charlotte’s Tea Room on Main Street in Warwick on Wednesday, April 25th, meeting at the restaurant at 12:30 p.m. This is a tea house that serves a luncheon that consists of scones, tea sandwiches and desserts as well as a variety of teas. There are other options on the menu. Please note that this is the FOURTH WEDNESDAY of the month. Please let Merrilee know if you are planning to attend.

  • HIKER BABES: Debra Manfredonio. This group will be hiking every Thursday, meeting at 1 p.m., at various levels of difficulty and to different destinations. Contact Debra if you would like to be notified of this group’s plans each week

  • A NOVEL GROUP: Debbie Maynard. The next meeting of this group will be on THE THIRD Wednesday of the month, which is April 18th, at 8 p.m. at the home of Sophie Adams. They will be discussing “Snow Flower and the Secret Fan” by Lisa See. If you are already a member of this group, please call the hostess if you are NOT attending. Guests trying it out are always welcome.

  • MOVIE NIGHT: Maria-Elena Grant. This group meets on the first Tuesday of the month, which for this month is April 3rd. They will be going to the 7:15 p.m. showing of “Premonition” at the Clearview Cinema, meeting in the lobby at 7 p.m. Please let Maria-Elena know if you are planning to attend.

  • BREAKFAST BUNCH: Cindy Forrest. This group will be meeting on Thursday, April 26th, at the Oasis Diner next to Shoprite at 9:45 a.m. You do not have to let Cindy know you are going, just show up for some breakfast and conversation.
