The Club
Founded in 1986, the West Milford Newcomers Club is a social and recreational organization for women whose goal is to bring members together to cultivate friendships and broaden their social and cultural interests. To achieve this goal, the club offers informative and entertaining monthly meetings and a wide variety of group activities. These activities reflect the interests of the membership but also provide opportunities to explore individual passions with kindred spirits. They are also fun things to do with or without children!
You don't have to be new in the township to be a Newcomer nor are you required to reside in West Milford. Membership is open to all women who are newly arrived or long-time residents of New Jersey and neighboring New York.
Imagine, if you will, as you walk into your first Newcomers meeting, you are warmly greeted and introduced to other women who live in West Milford and neighboring towns. And as you enjoy a piping hot cup of tea or coffee and nibble on a delicous homemade treat or two, you learn about the club's history, recent and upcoming club events and activities, and the wealth of opportunities available in our beautiful north Jersey highlands. However, this is just the socializing phase of the meeting: there is still more -- a guest speaker. Guest speakers present topics of general interest that include, but are not limited to, self-motivation, astrology, hobbies, health and finance. Can you think of a better way to spend one morning a month?
A club is only as good as its members and ours -- who graciously and generously volunteer their time and ideas -- are pretty special!
